Does Sally McNeil Have Kids?
The documentary features her son John and Shantina who were from her previous marriage. She didn’t share any child with Ray.
During the time of Ray’s death, John was nine years old, while Shantina was eleven. As their mother was sentenced to 19 years of jail, the children faced several ups and downs.
They used to live in Oceanside, California, and the two barely survived at the month’s end. However, the children had a well-off start because Sally’s bodybuilder career took the flight, and there was more money coming to the house.
Apart from the money, the family was not happy as John and Shantina always saw their parents arguing with each other.
Both children participated in the documentary and told that their father always abused them.
They also discuss an incident where Ray punched Sally in her face. The punch was brutal and caused her nose to break, and John claims that his father would often beat him, and sometimes he would lash out at Shantina.
Where Are John And Shantina McNeil Now?
When Sally was sent to jail for shooting her husband, Ray, the children were sent to childcare. But, later, they were sent to their maternal grandmother, who lived 3000 miles from where Sally was kept.
This led the children to meet their mothers once a year. Sally says that John would not speak to her when she was in jail, but after being released, he frequently talks to her.
As both children joined the military, John later made his way to serve five combat tours in Afghanistan.
But, he was later sent for treatment after dealing with PTSD and drug addiction. After getting married, he started living in Texas.
Shantina received a degree in electrical and electronic engineering. After receiving the degree, she joined the US army, where she served for 16 years and completed two tours of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Like her brother, she also had PTSD from her combat tours and abusive relationship.
She left the army and began working in an aerospace and defense technology company, and she is currently working as an IT network administrator for Defense Logistics Agency.
Currently, she lives in Grovetown, Georgia, and she also has a son.
The children explain that they didn’t spend much time with their mother after she was sent to jail, so they are trying to rebuild.
